So in one of our domains that we manage I have an EMC Avamar system backing up our Vcenter which is working fine using Proxies. We have an isolated cluster for our Vcenter server and Vcenter SQL server. The architecture is like this:
Two physical G7's running ESXi 5.1.0.
Vcenter server and SQL are windows R2 VM's running in this cluster with SAN storage.
Question: Whenever our nightly backups hit these VM's the snapshot initiates then immediately goes to remove snapshot. In avamar activity logs it shows as an Error Code 10007. In the error/exception log it gives me the error :Avtar exited with code 158: cannot establish connection with Server. Obviously it has enough to connection to initiate the snapshot within VCenter. The proxy is in the same datastore already as the two servers so it shouldnt (though it is saying) be a permissions issue. The service account itself has full administrator rights across the entire datacenter and down so no restricted permissions. Anyone have any experience with this to know what may be causing this issue or know a fix?
Also before you ask; our other domains are physical servers running R2 Windows. This is the first Virtualized configuration like this, however, we have more coming soon so this answer will be applie to multiple.
